Our Story

The Small Kitchen Company is the natural incarnation of The Small Bathroom Company. One of the area’s most prolific home improvements companies in the area.
In 2020, after 2 decades of close collaboration with sister company Utopia Kitchens, the decision was taken to create 2 distinctly positioned brands, rather than merge into one company.
The team, having worked closely on kitchen and bathroom projects collectively over many years, was based in the offices of Utopia Kitchens in Berkshire, where a more in-depth study of bespoke cabinetry was undertaken. This allowed us to refine the products offering to cover:
Our Riverside Offices in Hampton
Trade
Quality
Bespoke
With the blended offering that cover’s every style and level, The Small Kitchen Company is currently working on a number of projects for architects, developers and customers direct.
David Ridgley, Founder
Two decades ago, founder and active designer, founded the Small Bathroom Company with the idea of bringing business-to-business methods to the domestic sector.
Graduating from Berkshire in design around the early 80's before studying branding, marketing and communications, David worked for some of Europe's leading branding and design consultancies in London.
The latter consultancy moved him into interiors for commercial, galleries, museums and unusual locations and it is this, with half of his friends in the design world and the other half in construction and kitchens, it was a natural move to apply all the client servicing, project management and design skills to form a small local bathroom company after training with the UKs 'number 1' bathroom retailer at the time.
2 decades later, The Small Kitchen Company is born.
Kitchen Styles

Kitchens are presented in style groups, including the versatile contemporary handled kitchen, which offers a vast range of colours, textures and near infinite handle designs to create that individual style.
True Handleless. The ‘blue-ray’ of the modern kitchen. With superb ergonomics and ease of opening, the system utilises the metal ‘rail’ system to provide the ultimate in minimalist practicality.
True Handleless Shaker is the latest clever fusion of the modern design, but with a Shaker door style to produce that eclectic and individual style.
You then have the various combinations of the classic 5 piece Shaker kitchen. Utterly timeless and adaptable in any home style. This can be offered with grained or smooth doors. From the durable range of factory colours, to the bespoke opportunities for the ultimate personal touch.
Kitchen Factories

In order to provide the most complete product offering, not only in terms of design features, but also price and complexity level too.
Once we have established your brief, including your budget range, we can then discuss which of the factory/bespoke ranges suite you perfectly. There’s a lot to explain on one page, so a 1 to 1 consultation is key to ensuring you choose the kitchen that’s perfect for you.
Our customer’s favourite range, since Mereway launched their Trend range, offering the same Mereway quality, but at a ‘Howdens’ price-level.
Combining German materials with English discernment, the bespoke cabinet factory in the North of the country, produces quality bespoke kitchens to achieve your perfect individual specification.
